About the Journal

Sapienza: International Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (SIJIS) aims to encourage scientific publication by national and international researchers committed to the democratization of science. It is a quarterly publication, with free access to content, which follows the "Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors" recommended by specialized institutions. Its interdisciplinary character allows a strong interaction between the applied social sciences, the humanities and other great areas of knowledge.

AIMS & SCOPE: SIJIS follows the Science-metrix classification, and our main focus and scope domains are Economic and Social Sciences and Arts and Humanities. However, given the interdisciplinary nature of our journal and depending on the availability of reviewers and members of the editorial board, we may accept manuscripts from applied sciences, health sciences, and natural sciences.

The journal has no restrictions related to the author's academic degree or institutional affiliation fostering a diverse and inclusive scholarly landscape. Instead, the journal's focus is to contribute to the improvement and publication of original ideas and contributions to the scientific community. Currently, original articles can be submitted for double-blind evaluation. We encourage submission of empirically oriented, unpublished articles with original evidence.

Contributions must be in English and meet the formatting standards stipulated in the journal's guidelines.

SIJIS is the result of the voluntary work of the Editor-in-Chief and other members of the Editorial & Scientific Committee (ESC), also of reviewers and collaborators. Currently, ESC has members specialized in various areas of knowledge, from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia Mexico, Germany, Spain, Philippines and Venezuela.

All accepted articles will be published in continuous publication mode.

They can alter the content of approved articles at the spelling or aesthetic level to improve editorial quality. They also define marketing growth strategies and/or development of the Journal's design capabilities.

Peer reviewers

Responsible for doing peer review and opinions to suggest acceptance or rejection.

The reviews are registered through the Reviewer platform Credits. Reviewers have the suggestive capacity based on their area of expertise .

All positions mentioned in our governance structure are voluntary, that is, without employment ties. Except in occasional exceptions, where ad-hoc services could be provided from third parties, through a link considered free-lance.

All members of the Editorial Board are appointed according to their area of specialization, by presenting their interest to the Editors-in-Chief and are renewed every 18 months. As a minimum rule, 10 members are designated for each area of knowledge.

In general, 1 or 2 annual online meetings with the scientific community of the Sapienza journal are planned, to define guidelines and ways of working. Likewise, it is possible that technical and scientific training in academic writing and publishing may be conducted during the year for community members.

The financing of the journal comes from 3 main sources:

  1. Own financing funds from the independent publisher Sapienza Grupo Editorial, which operates in Brazil. It covers the main operational aspects of the platform and expenses necessary for an online presence.
  2. Donations and agreements with research institutions.
  3. Fundraising campaigns and voluntary donations from members of our international scientific community.

This governance and financing structure allows us to maintain free article publications in the long term.
