Editorial Planning

In the last meeting of the editorial board and based on international evaluations such as the one received in Latindex 2.0, we unanimously agreed that one of the aspects that we must improve is related to publication dates. In this sense, it has been scheduled that each number begins on the 30th day of the first month and closes on the 30th day of the last month of the quarter.

Example: number 1 starts to be published from 01/30/2023 and ends on 03/30/2023. Thus avoiding out-of-order publications, all the articles belonging to a certain number must be included in the mentioned interval for each quarter.

Update

Seeking to improve our pattern of editorial quality, we have decided to make two important improvements to SIJIS:

1- Limit the number of articles per editorial issue published. This will likely have a direct impact on our article approval rate. From now on, articles with empirical results will be prioritized.

2- Increase the demands on our peer review process, to make it more robust and reliable. For this, some platforms will be used that allow the verification of this process, generating credentials for our ad hoc reviewers.

3- Define a maximum limit of 25 articles per issue, starting in April 2022 or issue number 3 of Vol 3. In the event that the demand exceeds this limit, the committee approves up to a maximum of 2 special issues per quarter. The minimum for the publication of a regular or special number will be 10 articles.

These criteria were decided and adopted as a result of the last meeting of the editorial committee (which, by signal, will be renewed with new members).
