The rapid increase in energy demand due to development and population growth involves increasing resource demands. The diversity of typologies of the metropolis regarding resources, requests, architectural conditions, infrastructure or density, makes a specific study important. In the work, certain resources related to the organization process are identified that would allow selecting the most correct technology for the Santa Ana Canton of the province of Manabí, where the resources of the environment that are sustained to make investments taking advantage of other types of clean energy were valued. because resource is the component with the most monumental preponderance, followed by economic conditions; On the other hand, it is detected that points of the environment such as climate change, eutrophication or acidification, are the least rapid incidents of choosing technologies. The research is of a descriptive type that includes the analysis of several research works related to the energy regulatory framework, DG and renewable energy sources. For this, the Desk research method was used, which consists of a technique that uses existing and publicly available data, includes material published in research documents and other materials of this type. The inductive-deductive method was applied to obtain the results based on logical reasoning through the analysis of the available information, to establish the conceptual elements from the real situation and to know the current state of the laws and regulations that govern energy management in Ecuador and reach concrete conclusions on the subject studied. It is concluded that the regulations on renewable energies in Ecuador establish the basic requirements and preferential situations for the production of this variety of non-conventional energies in the Ecuadorian electrical space.
