In this article, it is described the design and simulation for different configurations of a step-down DC-DC converter circuit. The development of this article is based on the work carried out in (Rueda-Panchano, 2022), where were obtained the mathematical equations of the DC-DC converter and the corresponding Simulink block diagram representation of these equations (modeling). This allowed, in the current work, to select the electronic elements properly to establish the nominal (desired) operating points of the design. On the other hand, the obtained simulation results would allow to implement in the future, the construction of an experimentation prototype of a DC-DC step-down converter unit, which would allow to understand in practice, not only through simulations/modelling, the behavior of this type of converter.
